Beautiful, amazing, gorgeous - Chiemsee
16 students from 6 countries took part in our summer program from June 16 to July 24. Besides classes on two different levels we offered many exciting cultural trips and excursions to selected places of interest in Austria and Germany. Here you’ll find some reports written by students.
"Chiemsee was our second to last trip this summer. All of the students, including myself and Markus, left for Simbach at 8:30 in the morning. From there we took train after train to Chiemsee. Once we arrived, we got on a ferry and then a carriage, until we were finally at the castle. The castle, which is located on Herrenchiemsee island, is a copy of the Versailles castle near Paris, France. "Beautiful, amazing, gorgeous", are just a few words that describe the castle we saw. After the tour, we traveled a ways by ferry to the next island, Fraueninsel. There, we could swim or just enjoy the sites....and ice cream. :) On the ferry ride back, Markus made us get off at what we thought was our stop...only to find out it wasn't. So we had to hurry back onto the ferry again. When asked why we got off at the wrong stop, Markus's only response was, "It would be an unusual trip if we didn't get lost". But we did make it back on time and with no one missing. Overall, it was a beautiful, sunny and fun day."
