"young... dynamic... swiss abroad"
This was the title of this year's traditional youth night at the yearly convention of the Swiss German Conference on March 15 in Zurich.
The evening was planned and performed by our Swiss students. Afterwards everybody agreed that it was an excellent event: smart, good-natured, natural and humorous, but also serious and spiritual. Dominik Maurer (Theology) was the host of the "show" and led through the program pleasantly and wittily. Dominic Bornand and Jesse Zwiker (both Theology) gave the perfect perfomance as singing and instrumental duo, actively supported by Wonhyeok Lee and Lucas Fraunberger (both Academy), two Non-Swiss sympathizers. The interview partners Selina Riederer (Academy), Dominik Rhyner (Primary School), and Annika Looser-Grönroos (Theology) transmitted their insights into the various departments of Bogenhofen with charme and humor. Fabian Looser-Grönroos (Theology) played the first Swiss president of Bogenhofen, Paul Steiner, and with that bridged the time distance between the beginnings of Swiss involvement in Bogenhofen and today. Michael Eggler and Philipp Reddiess (both Academy) had the privilege to experience a merciful disciplinary committee (Winfried Vogel and Cornelia Zachhuber) who showed understanding for the now legendary ride on a tractor through the village of Bogenhofen in the middle of the night. Especially moving was the testimony of a young immigrant to Switzerland who attends our Academy and who has changed from a hooligan in his former homecountry into a follower of Jesus and who wants to be baptized soon.
Thank you, dear Swiss students at Bogi, that with this evening, which you planned and performed all by yourself, you have overcome prejudices and shown what Bogenhofen is really like.
