Summer Classes - Regular Program

Next Summer Program: June 16 to July 23, 2009

Bogenhofen offers a six-week German course for beginners and a concurrent course for intermediate/advanced students each summer from the middle of June to the end of July. For the exact date of this year please refer to www.bogenhofen.at.
This course offers a short but exciting version of the total immersion through culture program of the academic year. For details see Cultural Tours. In class we train skills in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing; develop and widen the vocabulary; as well as introduce basic or intermediate principles of grammar and phonetics.

Beginning German

Beginning German is for the student without prior or with extremely little background in German and consists of basic vocabulary, basic grammar structures as well as interactive communication on an elementary level. Speaking, listening, reading and writing are the main skills that are trained during this course. The usually international group of students guarantees interesting discussions and role plays.
At very little extra cost the students have the option of an additional class of beginning Business German which is taught on two afternoons a week.

Intermediate/advanced German

Intermediate/advanced German is designed to build upon a student's previous study of German. At this level we include easy literature.
Again, at very little extra costs the students have the option of an additional class of Intermediate Business German which is taught on two afternoons a week.

The summer school students spend four to five mornings a week, and if they choose the option of business German, two afternoon sessions per week in the classroom and sometimes one day a week as well as most Sundays on excursions. In the remaining afternoons there are many possibilities for practicing German on the beach volleyball field, on a canoe tour, playing football or going swimming, visiting the closeby town of Braunau and eating Italian ice cream.
