Business German

Summer school students also have the option of supplementing their curriculum with a basic or intermediate German business class, which takes place on one or two afternoons and is offered at very low additional cost. This class will prepare you for the enriching and educational experience of a four week practicum or internship in a major or well-known European company. The basic German Business course focuses on developing skills in small talk, managing appointments, and handling the telephone. The intermediate course incorporates German knowledge in practical fields such as accounting, finances, human resources and production technologies. You can then enjoy the interesting experience of actually working in a German speaking company. The extra credits for this course do require the participation in an internship.

Internships will be held in August. Those wishing to participate should plan on registering by the end of April if possible. As internship positions are limited, early enrolment will increase your chances of receiving your preferred position.

European companies generally do not offer salaries, nor provide room and board for internships. This means that you will need to take into consideration that there will be additional costs. However, we are doing our best to keep the costs for travelling and living expenses during the internship as low as possible.

For costs of the tuition please see Summer Classes, cost on this website.
