Academic year 2008/09: September 08 - June 09
The year-long program consists of three different levels of language learning: beginning, intermediate, and advanced. At the beginning of the first trimester students are given a German Language Proficiency Examination in order to assess their language competency. Based on the test results, students register for the beginning or intermediate German language courses.
These courses train your skills in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing help you to develop and widen your vocabulary as well as introduce you to the principles of grammar and phonetics. Literature, history and religion as well as business German or a theology class offer the possibility to practice and improve your language skills in a field of your interest.
Completion of the beginning level courses prepares the students to pass the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch - Zertifikat Deutsch. Completion of the intermediate/advanced courses prepares the students to pass the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch - Mittelstufe or for really advanced students the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Oberstufe.
