Registration/Visa

Prerequisites

  • Completion of 10 years of school or in college
  • 18 years old
  • Previous study of German is not required

Registration Forms

Students (except students from the United States and Canada) have to submit their registration forms directly to Bogenhofen. Please take note of the fact that the language course is offered by the language institute of the theology department which is authorized by the Austrian government to have students from non-EEC countries. Therefore all language students apply as students within the theology department.

Student registration from those attending Adventist institutions in North America takes place at their home campus. For further information see ACA (Adventist Colleges Abroad).

The following registration forms are necessary for registering for the German course and some of them can be downloaded as a PDF file:

  • German course application with signature and picture
  • Two recommendations from two different people
  • Personal description for students staying at the dorm
  • Medical report for eligibility of living in the dorm - required for admission
  • Proof of valid health insurance suitable for Austria
  • Financial documents
  • Declaration of intent: why would you like to study at Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen? Why would you like to study at a school outside your home country?

The registration fee is to be paid upon registration. The application for admissions is only valid when the registration fee has been paid.

The registration forms can be:

  • downloaded, printed, filled out, and the originals sent by mail to Bogenhofen (see address below) or as a PDF file to office@bogenhofen.at
  • requested by leaving a message sent through the contact page

Important Information:

  • The application for admissions is only valid when the registration fee has been paid.
  • The application is only valid if the original documents are received and confirmed by us.
  • Non EEC inhabitants except for Switzerland and Liechtenstein need a valid student visa for their studies. The administration will help on request

Visa Application

All students who plan on staying longer than three months need a valid student visa. As a rule, visas are issued before arrival by the Austrian Consulate and will be issued to those who apply for studies in theology, since the language institute which offers courses in German language is part of the theology department. The student receives the visa in his or her home country before arriving in Austria.

Applying for a visa after arrival in Austria is only possible for American, Canadian, and Japanese citizens.

  • Original birth certificate with notarized German translation
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Confirmation of enrolment in the theology department of Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen
  • Verification of sufficient funds
  • Verification of lodging (confirmation of a dorm place)
  • Copy of passport
  • One photo
  • A complete risk-covering health insurance with policy valid for Austria
  • Health Certificate when staying longer than six months
  • complete application is to be submitted to the Austrian Embassy or Consulate in your home country
